Anxiety is Not Your Friend: Get Out of This Now!
In 2024 Disney released Inside Out 2, taking us deeper into the world of emotions. This time, a new emotion enters the stage: anxiety. Besides being a kids movie, the lessons we can learn about self-confidence and emotional balance are universal.
I’ll try to not give you any spoiler about the story, ok?
Don’t be an overthinker
In the movie, Anxiety claims she’s better than the other emotions because she can predict the future. That line hit me hard because it’s exactly what happens when we overthink. Our thoughts spiral into endless loops, making us anxious and, worse, leading to inaction.
Overthinking is often driven by the fear of failure and the need to be perfect. But the truth is, taking action, even imperfectly, is the only way forward.
I used to overthink a lot before putting something into practice. Talking to people was always a problem for me, I planned everything in my mind but the time I openned my mouth nothing goes as planned.
Overthink is part of the anxiety of being perfect and the fear of failure.
Courage breaks anxiety: Just do It
Fear and anxiety can be paralyzing, but courage is key. That’s where self-confidence comes in: small, consistent actions that show your mind you’re capable.
→ Take care of you
Being confident means you’re happy with yourself. To be happy with yourself you need to show that you deserve it.
Football players reach their best version when everything is going well. Their family, their relationships, team trophies. Everything affects their mind with a great level of confidence, making them feel unstoppable.
Most of us are not professional players, but how can we still show our mind that we deserve to be happy? Hardworking.
Taking care of ourselves are the best way to tell the brain: “Hey, I’m doing everything well bro! You deserve to be happy!!”
Here are 3 basic body parts I take care everyday to be happier, more confident and less anxious:
Face: A simple skincare routine can do wonders, not just for your appearance, but for how you feel about yourself. My morning routine is quick but effective: cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen. It’s a small act of self-care that boosts my confidence for the rest of the day.
Body: Sports and physical activity aren’t just about staying fit, they’re about mental resilience. I hit the gym three times a week and run twice. It’s not always easy, but every session reminds me I’m stronger than my excuses.
Mind: Spending time in nature, practicing gratitude, and connecting with spirituality means a lot to me. I start my day by thanking God and reflecting on what I’m grateful for, it sets a calm and positive tone for the day.
Taking care of your face, body, and mind isn’t just about looking good, it’s about showing yourself you deserve to feel good, because you are trying to be better. Anxiety might tell you otherwise, but with small, consistent actions, you can build confidence and peace of mind, trust me.
